With a 6–4 win over Billings today, the Idaho Falls Chukars advanced to the Pioneer League Championship, doing so for the first time since 2015.
The Chukars won the first contest of the best-of-three series, 2–0, but the Mustangs tied it with a 4–3 win the next night. Deciding game three took nearly two days to complete, after wet weather suspended the contest on Tuesday and postponed it again the next night.
When play resumed this afternoon in the bottom of the second with the Mustangs ahead 1–0, Idaho Falls hastily tied the game and took a one-run lead.
