Ian Kennedy injures hamstring in Royals’ 8-3 loss to White Sox

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — More than four weeks into the season, Ian Kennedy is still looking for his first win. The wait now could be a while longer.

Kennedy left Thursday’s series finale against the Chicago White Sox at Kauffman Stadium with one out in the fifth with a strained right medial hamstring and his team down five runs. The Royals lost 8-3, and Kennedy will be re-evaluated Friday. But the loss of Kennedy possibly for an extended period of time would be a difficult blow to a team that is now 9-18 and doesn’t have an off day until May 15.
