I was recently reading about the all-time career home run leaders for pitchers by each team. The Royals were towards the bottom of the pile, primarily since the American League instituted the Designated Hitter in 1973. Their home run leader is Jim Rooker, one of the original Royals. He has five, a record that will most likely never be broken. Four of those dingers came in the 1969 season, which is more than most of their utility infielders hit in a year. In their history, the Royals have only had four pitchers go yard, Rooker, Jim York, Lance Clemons, and Zach Greinke.
