CHICAGO
After an examination of his strained right pectoral muscle, Royals closer Greg Holland said he was cleared to resume his throwing program on Sunday morning.
Holland planned to play catch before his team faced the White Sox. There is no exact timetable for his return. He is eligible to leave the 15-day disabled list on May 3.
Holland felt soreness in his pectoral after his outing on April 17.
With Holland out, Wade Davis has filled in as the closer without a hiccup. But Kelvin Herrera faces a five-game suspension and an additional two-game suspension in the coming weeks.
