MINNEAPOLIS -- The Royals placed All-Star outfielder Alex Gordon on the 15-day disabled list with a fracture of the scaphoid bone in his right wrist and recalled infielder Cheslor Cuthbert on Monday.
Gordon, who will miss three to four weeks, was injured in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox in a collision with third baseman Mike Moustakas as the two were chasing a foul ball.
Gordon said after Sunday's game that the wrist simply was sore.
The Royals likely will go with a combination of Jarrod Dyson and Whit Merrifield in left field for now.
