With a flurry of T-shirts, blankets and thousands more old promotional items, the Royals’ first ever garage sale drew several thousand people to Kauffman Stadium early Saturday morning.
Lines wrapped around from Gate D on the first-base side of the stadium to Gate E near right field. A security guard said that before gates opened at 8 a.m. people were lined up to one of the bridges in the Truman Sports Complex parking lot.
Some had been in line before sunrise, including one family who spent the night camping outside of the stadium gates. They were the first in line, Royals vice president for publicity Toby Cook said.
