The Royals won their game last night which gives them their first shot to win back-to-back games since May 22. It would be their first pair of wins on consecutive days since May 2. Did I mention the Twins are really good and the Royals don’t even have noted Twin-killer Salvador Perez on their roster?
The team demoted first baseman Ryan O’Hearn before the game and promoted outfielder Jorge Bonifacio. Whatever ailment is hindering Alex Gordon means he’ll be the designated hitter tonight while Boni will play in left. In O’Hearn’s absence it appears that Lucas Duda will take over the daily duties at first base at least until Hunter Dozier is ready to return from the IL.
