It took 15 days, but the top of the 10th inning finally resumed between the Royals and Red Sox, continuing their August 7th rubber match. It lasted all of 13 minutes, with the Red Sox walking the Royals off 5-4 in the 10th.
Nick Dini led off the 10th by lining out to first. He hit for Meibrys Viloria, who had doubled and driven in two back on the 7th. Red Sox reliever Josh Taylor was able to get the Royals in order.
Kansas City sent Richard Lovelady to the mound, who struck out Andrew Benintendi but gave up a double to Christian Vazquez on his next pitch to put the winning run on second.
