When the Royals were losing baseball games, lots of baseball games, we used to hear a lot about doing the little things right. I often scoffed at those comments, not because they were wrong, but because they couldn’t even do the big things right. Without the big things like being able to pitch well, hit well, field well and run the bases well, the little things were pretty irrelevant. Fast forward to 2015, and the Royals do the little things well, and it’s a joy to watch. They’re human, so they aren’t always perfect, but night in and night out, we see them do things that add up.
