Foster’s First Start

2014 1st Round Pick, 28th overall, Foster Griffin made his first start for the Lexington Legends on Saturday night and despite a rocky 2nd inning it didn’t go too badly for the Royals draftpick.  The lefty had a good mix of outs earning 7 groundouts to just 3 flyouts while 3 of the 4 hits allowed were also via the groundball. Trouble caught up to Griffin in the 2nd when he surrendered a leadoff single and was unable to retire the side after getting back to back groundouts, Kannapolis was able to piece three consecutive hits together the last of which was an RBI triple from 25 year old Eddy Alvarez that drove in a pair.
