Former Royals GM John Schuerholz was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday, a unanimous choice by Today’s Game Era Committee.
Schuerholz was a member of the original Royals front office beginning in 1968 and served at several levels in the baseball operations department before ascending to GM.

Under Schuerholz’s tenure as Royals GM, Kansas City won the American League Western division in 1984–85 and the World Series in ’85.
