CLEVELAND -- Royals left-hander Danny Duffy left Tuesday's game in the first inning after facing seven batters.
After Cleveland's Jason Kipnis delivered an RBI single to right to make it 3-0 Indians, pitching coach Cal Eldred visited the mound, quickly followed by manager Ned Yost and trainer Nick Kenney.
Duffy, who recently came off the disabled list after battling through a left shoulder impingement, gave up four hits and walked a batter, and really appeared to struggle with his command. His velocity also seemed to dip as the inning progressed.
