Dillon Gee to start Saturday, Chris Young to get MRI

The Royals announced today that Dillon Gee will get the start Saturday at home against the Atlanta Braves, knocking right-hander Chris Young out of the rotation. The move comes after Young was shelled in Yankee Stadium, allowing five home runs in 6-3 loss on Monday. In seven starts, Young had an ERA of 6.68 and led the league with 13 home runs allowed. His strikeout rate was up to 8.6 per nine innings, but Young noted that despite his velocity staying the same, he had lost "life" on his fastball. He is experiencing tightness in his forearm and will be examined for an MRI in Kansas City tomorrow, according to beat writer Rustin Dodd.
