Almost a month into the regular season and 22 games into the 162-game slate, the Royals have gotten off to a bumpy start with several tough-to-swallow losses having been the distinguishing characteristic of the opening month.
The absence of a finishing kick has been too often their undoing. Sunday’s 7-6 loss in 10 innings to the New York Yankees gave the Royals seven one-run losses in their first 22 games.
