Dayton Moore held his end-of-the-year press conference on Thursday and touched upon many topics, including the organization’s use of analytics, the state of the farm system, and what he expected to be a slow off-season. Moore was confident, admitted some mistakes, particularly for letting the farm system atrophy to the point where it was, but sounded optimistic in the direction of the organization.
Then he was asked a question about Luke Heimlich, the former Oregon State pitcher who confessed as a youth to child molestation charges the Royals considered signing earlier this year. Heimlich went undrafted in the June amateur draft and has been unsigned as a free agent since, although the Royals made their interest in him public.
