Danny Duffy Donates $141,000 to Noah’s Bandage Project

For every strikeout Danny Duffy recorded in 2018, he pledged to donate $1,000 to Noah’s Bandage Project, a local foundation that provides fun bandages to kids and raises money to fight childhood cancer.

From 2016–17, Duffy pledged $159,000 ($500 per strikeout), before upping the ante this season. Duffy finished the season with 141 strikeouts, which equaled a $141,000 donation.

The foundation is named for Noah Wilson, who lost a battle with bone cancer
in 2015.

Last month, Duffy was named the Royals’ nominee for the 2018 Roberto Clemente Award, which recognizes the player who best represents the game through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions bears Clemente’s name.
