CHICAGO
Danny Duffy threw six scoreless innings and Cheslor Cuthbert clubbed two solo homers as the Royals took down the Chicago White Sox 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The victory ended an eight-game losing streak — which began for Kansas City last Thursday in Cleveland and had persisted for another eight days and three cities — and pushed the Royals back above .500 at 31-30.
Duffy offered most of the heavy lifting, striking out a career-high 10 batters while allowing just three hits and three walks. He lowered his ERA to 2.94 while earning his second win in three starts.
