The Royals jumped to a 3-0 lead with a quartet of well-placed doubles against Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson in the top of the first inning before Braun and the Brewers answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame against Nathan Karns, starting with Braun's two-run homer.
