Bobby Witt Jr. named Gatorade National Baseball Player of the Year

Colleyville High School (TX) shortstop has wont the Gatorade National High School Baseball Player of the Year award for the 2019 season. Witt Jr. batted .500/.571/1.103/1.674 in 38 games with 15 home runs, 15 doubles, 8 triples, 17 stolen bases, and 24 walks to just 11 strike outs in 153 plate appearances. On the mound, Witt Jr. has earned two saves and a 1.62 ERA, striking out 18 batters in just 8.2 innings pitched.
