Bobby Witt, Jr. may be the most anticipated Royals prospect in decades, and fans will get a chance to see him on a bigger stage during All-Star weekend. Witt and first baseman Nick Pratto have been named as the two Royals prospects selected to participate in the Futures Game, to be played July 11 at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.
Witt got off to a slow start for Double-A Northwest Arkansas, but has been on fire since mid-May, and is hitting .286/.354/.551 with 12 home runs and 13 steals in just 45 games. He has also improved his plate discipline and now has a 9 percent walk rate while whiffing lower than league average with a strikeout rate of 24.
