I’m fairly certain you shouldn’t throw a party without the addition of a cheesy appetizer. I know I will feel like a subpar host without at least a bit of cheese on my menu. For a recent barbeque I brought along a torte made from blending cream and goat cheeses and spread with two different pestos. I tend to make pesto from different ingredients when they are in season and freeze them in small quantities to use throughout the winter, but store-bought pesto works just as well. Spread over a crispy pita chip, this dairy delight is sure to please.
