Two Royals farmhands accounted for Surprise’s only runs in its 5–2 loss to Peoria on Wednesday.
Third baseman Mauricio Ramos hit his second homer of the fall in the second inning, and first baseman Ryan O’Hearn’s RBI single in the eighth cut the deficit to one before Peoria’s two-run bottom half.
RHP Evan Beal recorded 2.0 scoreless innings in relief. He’s recorded scoreless outings in eight of his last nine outings, lowering his Arizona Fall League ERA to 3.68 (6 ER in 14.2 IP).
The loss cut Surprise’s lead in the AFL West division to 0.
