After posting a 3.86 ERA (31 ER in 72.1 IP) with 69 strikeouts (8.6 SO/9) over 42 relief appearances for the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals in 2016, LHP Eric Stout turned in an impressive showing in the Arizona Fall League.
Stout, Kansas City’s 13th-round pick in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, posted a 2.77 ERA (4 ER in 13.0 IP) with 13 strikeouts this fall, holding opponents’ to a .217 average (10-for-46). Of his nine appearances, six were scoreless.
On Oct. 27, he recorded a save in Surprise’s 7–5 comeback win over Peoria.
The left hander recorded 6.
