The Surprise Saguaros (17–14–1), winners of the Arizona Fall League West division, lost 6–1 to the Mesa Solar Sox (16–15–1), winners of the AFL East division, in the AFL championship game on Saturday at Scottsdale Stadium.
The Saguaros offense recorded just two hits — both by Rangers’ prospect Jose Trevino — but two Royals farmhands teamed up to account for the only run.
1B Ryan O’Hearn led off the fifth inning with a walk. After advancing to second base on a single and third base on a wild pitch, 3B Mauricio Ramos drove O’Hearn home on a double play.
