Royals outfielder Alex Gordon’s knee gave out as he ran into the outfield wall chasing down a flyball and had to be carted off the field after several tense minutes at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday night.
The play happened with the Royals leading the Rays 2-1 in the fourth inning. No one was on base, and Tampa Bay second baseman Logan Forsythe scored on an inside-the-park home run as Gordon lay sprawled on the warning track.
