The MLB trade deadline is just hours away (4:00 pm ET) and the Kansas City Royals trade rumors are starting to heat up. The Royals are just 49-55, meaning all options are on the table with this squad. With that in mind, here all the latest Royals trade rumors you need to know.
Kansas City to keep Volquez?
The Royals have been entertaining offers for Edinson Volquez over the past few weeks, but as the deadline approaches, it appears that nothing is going to get done. According to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, the Astros - who were thought to be most interested in Volquez - are passing on him:
#Astros are also dabbling in starter market, but it's largely picked over. Edinson Volquez a possibility, but they're lukewarm on him.

The Marlins are also interest in Volquez, but talks between the two sides haven't developed. Volquez is 8-9 with a 4.70 ERA in 22 starts this season.
Morales on way out of KC?
Kansas City isn't opening making DH Kendrys Morales available for trade like they have with Volquez, but several teams have expressed interest in making a last-second deal, reports MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan:
Source: Kendrys Morales does not have a no-trade clause. Astros, Rangers may have interest, though Rangers seek pitching more. #Royals

Morales is .244 with 16 home runs and 49 RBIs this season.
