The MLB trade deadline on August 1st is rapidly approaching, and the trade rumors around the Kansas City Royals starting to heat up. Plagued by injuries this year, the Royals are 48-49 and on the outside of the Wild Card race. The Royals lean toward selling, although that's not set in stone. With that in mind, here all the latest Royals trade rumors.
Royals dealing Volquez?
If the Royals do decide to sell, pitcher Edinson Volquez could be the first to go. According to ESPN's Buster Olney, he has received interest from several teams:
Rangers reportedly interested in Edinson Volquez, and he'd make sense as a possible fit for Dodgers, Giants, Marlins, Orioles, as well.

Volquez is 8-8 with a 4.56 ERA this season.
Buchholz latest
Clay Buchholz has had problems staying in Boston's starting rotation this season, and the Red Sox seem poised to trade him. Kansas City has expressed interest in getting him, and the Red Sox may take a large chunk of his salary, according to MLBTradeRumors' Connor Byrne:
The Royals have interest in Red Sox righty Clay Buchholz, who’s currently in their bullpen, but Boston would have to pick up large portion of his remaining $13MM salary for 2016 in a trade. Buchholz’s contract also includes a $13.5MM club option for next season. In 20 appearances (13 starts) and 82 2/3 innings this season, the 31-year-old has compiled a sky-high 6.10 ERA to pair with ugly strikeout and walk rates (5.99 and 4.03, respectively, per nine).
Wade Davis Available?
Davis is near the top of any list involving best closers. With the Royals struggling, it's not a major surprise that teams have come calling about trying to trade for him. The Nationals are one such team, reports Jon Heyman. However, the Royals are asking for even more than the Yankees want for Aroldis Chapman. Davis is under team control through 2017, so unless the Royals get a staggering offer, it's tough to see them shipping out Davis.
