On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs brought De’Anthony Thomas back to the team.
The speedy wide receiver was halfway through his fifth season with the Chiefs when he re-fractured a surgically repaired tibia during a practice last October. He spent the rest of the season on injured reserve.
Thomas had been a running back and returner for the Oregon Ducks before the Chiefs selected him in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Though he was listed as a wide receiver even in his first season with the Chiefs, on offense Thomas has always been the quintessential “gadget player.
