With hurting hip, Chiefs’ Marcus Peters made huge play against Panthers

Related Topics: Marcus Peters

Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters sustained a hip flexor in last Sunday’s game at Carolina and didn’t practice on Wednesday.

Peters missed two snaps in the 20-17 victory with safety Ron Parker filling in. But Peters not only finished the game, he came up with a huge takeaway when he snatched the ball from Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who had bobbled a reception. The play led to Cairo Santos’ game-winning field goal as time expired.

Also not practicing Wednesday for the Chiefs were defensive linemen Dontari Poe, who has some knee swelling, according to Andy Reid, and Jaye Howard, who missed last week’s game because of a hip injury.
