While many were hoping that the Kansas City Chiefs would take a defensive player in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft,, there is reason to believe that general manager Brett Veach got great value in the second round by waiting and selecting Mississippi State linebacker Willie Gay Jr.
Due to some character concerns, Gay was considered a wild card. Even with serious potential, it was not clear where he would be taken. His playing style is a little unorthodox but he is very effective in every facet of his game, especially in pass coverage.
