During his football career at any level, there’s no question that Will Shields was a man among boys. Even at the professional level, Shields was an immovable object along the Kansas City Chiefs offensive front and the same was definitely true at every other level.
Given his tremendous football career, Shields has been inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame for 2019. He’s part of a class that also includes longtime Sooners coach Bob Stoops, Olympic wrestler Kendall Cross, baseball players Mike Moore and Mickey Tettleton, basketball coach Lou Henson and softball coach Patty Gasso.
