The plan appears to have worked. The Chiefs successfully made it through the first quarter of the NFL season with just four cornerbacks on the active roster. Bashaud Breeland, Kendall Fuller, and Charvarius Ward have taken almost every defensive snap while rookie Rashad Fenton has played a few special teams snaps in a reserve role.
While much has been said about the quality of cornerback play at Arrowhead, the low quantity has allowed Brett Veach and Andy Reid to tinker with player depth at other positions.
