Steve Wyche of NFL Media reports that free agent CB Brandon Flowers plans to retire from the NFL on Tuesday.

Flowers recently worked out for the Cardinals, but they elected to sign CB Tramon Williams instead.

Flowers, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2008. He signed a four-year, $36.4 million contract that includes $20.5 million guaranteed with the Chargers back in March of 2015 and was set to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2017 season when he was released by Los Angeles.
