The Kansas City Chiefs have secured the return of 20 of their 22 starters from their Super Bowl LIV Championship team and the bulk of the roster as a whole. As a result, the team had very few holes to address via the NFL Draft, free agency, and the trade market.
Now that rosters are largely set, there will inevitably be players who find themselves on the losing end of roster battles, and subsequently, they’ll be placed on the trade block before ultimately being cut by their respective squads.
It is in the murky waters of these late roster-cut candidates that Chiefs general manager Brett Veach often finds some of his best acquisitions.
