Editor’s note: In just his first year of eligibility, former Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on Saturday night. We thought it would be a good time to revisit the story we published about him on February 3.
Over a 17-year career, former Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez missed just two games. After his rookie season in 1997, he started all but two games. He had a streak of 211 consecutive games with a reception — the longest such streak for any tight end, and second only to wide receivers Jerry Rice and Larry Fitzgerald.
