Kansas City Chiefs teammates and fan breathed a sigh of relief when linebacker Justin Houston signed a long-term deal last that will get him into training camp on time.
He signed a six-year, $101 million deal with $52.5 million guaranteed and it's both the richest deal in Chiefs history and the largest ever for an NFL linebacker.
Houston has 48.5 sacks over his first four seasons.
“It’s big for us,” Chiefs wide receiver Junior Hemingway said, via the Kansas City Star.
“To have Justin back, man, it’s a good move for us. We can keep pushing, keep doing what we’re doing as a team, keep building, keep grinding, and get going — and try and get this ring.
