TE Travis Kelce steps into No. 1 role, becomes the leader of the tight end corps

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had a breakout year in 2014 catching 67 passes for 862 yards and five touchdowns while a sagging wide receiver corps struggled the entire year.

He joined elite company with Jimmy Graham, Martellus Bennett, Greg Olsen, Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Gates as the only tight ends with more production.

Kelce, 25, is still in the young stages of his career, but this offseason and training camp; he's taken on the role of mentor and gets some perks on the side.

"He warned me during OTAs that I'd have to do a little bit of rookie stuff," rookie TE James O'Shaughnessy said about carrying Kelce's equipment after practice, via the Associated Press.
