The Tamba Hali era is over. The Kansas City Chiefs will cut the long-time linebacker which ends a 12-year run with the team. The news comes via ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Most immediately this means the Chiefs save nearly $7.7 million against the cap and leave $1.7 in dead money. This move was expected given the way the last couple of seasons ended for Tamba in Kansas City -- the issue with playing just seven snaps in the Pittsburgh playoff game two seasons ago and last season recording just one tackle on the season.
