KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Between the shoulder surgery to starter Travis Kelce and the arrest of backup Demetrius Harris on felony possession of marijuana, the offseason created some uncertainty for the Kansas City Chiefs at tight end.
The Chiefs have little experienced depth behind Kelce and Harris, so they made a sensible move by signing veteran Gavin Escobar.
In a perfect world, the Chiefs may have no need for Escobar. Kelce may be 100 percent by the time training camp begins this summer. Harris may not be disciplined by the NFL for his arrest until after next season.
