Former Kansas City Chiefs safety Sanders Commings had a dream of playing professional baseball. Even as a football player for the University of Georgia and even the Chiefs, Commings grew up idolizing the likes of Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson, two sport stars who enjoyed the fruits of their athleticism by not having to choose just one professional sport. So as injuries ended his NFL career prematurely, Commings chose to chase the other sport of baseball. Unfortunately that dream has hit a wall with his release from the Atlanta Braves organization.
Commings had been a member of the Danville Braves, a rookie league affiliate where he was seven years older than his peers, but unfortunately his bat didn’t look ready for even that level.
