Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation tell Terez A. Paylor that the Chiefs’ decision to fire GM John Dorsey was fueled, in part, by concerns regarding his internal communication and management styles.
A source told Paylor that Dorsey had removed two front-office executives without much explanation: “John does stuff and doesn’t tell people why.”
However, Dorsey and HC Andy Reid still worked well together, according to one of Paylor’s sources: “You never got the impression they were sparring.”
During the offseason, the Chiefs somewhat surprisingly decided to fire director of football administration Trip MacCracken and director of pro scouting Will Lewis without much of an explanation for why these moves were made.
