Eric Berry has been working his way back into the starting line-up for the Kansas City Chiefs for the last two weeks as he returns from nearly two full seasons away from the game. However this week he’s taken a step back in his progress and ultimately he’s been left inactive heading into the Chiefs’ regular season finale.
The Chiefs host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday afternoon, but they will be without their star safety who has already missed practice this week and seemed in danger of missing the game.
Berry has been dealing with a sore heel all year that has proved too painful to play on, but the last two weeks have brought him back to the starting role—albeit on a pitch count in which his snaps are highly regulated so as to not have this exact sort of issue.
