KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry has a pair of purple cleats he wears for inspiration. He’ll use them to train in occasionally, and he wore them during warm-ups before a game this season against Pittsburgh.
"Purple is my color for cancer," said Berry, a lymphoma survivor. "That color just resonates with me, sticks with me now. I’ve got the (cancer) ribbon on (the tongue of) those cleats, so when I get tired or think I’m tired, I look down and see that ribbon and that purple and I’m like, 'You’re not really tired, bro.
