CEDAR RAPIDS, IA- The Peoria Chiefs used two big defensive plays to deny the unbeaten Cedar Rapids Kernels in the tenth inning and scored two innings later to win 3-2 Wednesday night in Iowa. The win, their fifth in a row, moves the Chiefs to 5-2 on the season with two games left on the first roadtrip of the season.
“We made some big plays tonight, (Steve) Bean and (Colling) Radack specifically in the tenth and (Tyler) Bray made some big pitches,” said Chiefs Manager Joe Kruzel.
