Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes continues to play through the ankle sprain he suffered Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and at the beginning of games (after a week of treatment), he has looked like his usual self — making plays that nobody else in the NFL can.
That was no more apparent than in the Chiefs’ 31-24 loss to the Houston Texans Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. Mahomes had a fantastic first quarter, leading the Chiefs to a 17-3 lead.
Then, early in in the second quarter, Texans linebacker Benardrick McKinney hit Mahomes as he threw an incomplete pass.
