On Tuesday, ESPN tweeted a ranking of NFL quarterback passer ratings in the red zone.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was ranked second in this list — behind New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, and ahead of stars like Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson and Philip Rivers.
This isn’t terribly surprising, since Brees and Mahomes currently rank 1-2 in overall passer rating (ahead of Rivers, Jared Goff and Wilson). But the two players are strong in different areas.
The passer rating formula combines completion, touchdown pass and interception percentage with yards per attempt to create an overall quarterback statistic.
