Owning fourth quarter becoming thing for Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Even trailing by two touchdowns heading into the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers, the Kansas City Chiefs had reason to feel good about their chances for stealing a victory.

They’ve more often than not owned the final period this season. They certainly dominated in the fourth quarter in Charlotte, outscoring the Panthers 17-0 to claim a 20-17 victory.

The Chiefs have outscored their opponents 79-30 in the fourth quarter, their margin of 5.4 points being the second highest in the league. So a deficit, even one that was 17-3 heading into the fourth quarter Sunday, isn’t intimidating.
