On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced that their former defensive end Tamba Hali would be the team’s 52nd inductee into its Hall of Fame.
The five-time Pro Bowler — now 40 — was one of the team’s most consistent performers over a long period. Drafted under head coach Herm Edwards and general manager Carl Peterson, Hali retired while Andy Reid and Brett Veach were running the show. After his 11-year playing career, he has remained in Kansas City to serve as a Chiefs Ambassador — and more recently, as an informal coach.
When he sat down with the media on Saturday, the 40-year-old Hali was still overwhelmed by his latest honor.
