NFL suspends Kansas City Chiefs tight end Demetrius Harris one game

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Demetrius Harris has been suspended by the NFL for his March 2017 arrest, the club announced Tuesday afternoon.

Harris, 26, ultimately served two days in jail for the incident.

Here is the Chiefs’ statement:

“This morning the NFL notified the club that tight end Demetrius Harris will serve a one-game suspension effective Week 1 of the regular season. We respect and support the league’s decision in this matter and will have no further comment on the situation.”

Harris had 18 catches for 224 yards and a touchdown last season with the Chiefs.
