The NFL Supplemental Draft was held on Wednesday. The Kansas City Chiefs did not make offers for any players that were available.
Just one player was selected: Washington State safety Jalen Thompson, who was taken by the Arizona Cardinals with a 2020 fifth-round pick.
Thompson was one of a handful of players eligible for this year’s supplemental draft — a group that also included West Virginia wide receiver Marcus Simms, Syracuse linebacker Shyheim Cullen, St. Francis (Ill.) cornerback Bryant Perry and Northland (Minn.) tight end Devonaire Clarington.
These players were not eligible for the NFL Draft in April, but have become eligible since then because their status has changed in some way — for example, academics, discipline and so on.
